Clippers Add Another Established Veteran, Sign Kenyon Martin
With the NBA lockout looming for months, and set to hit free agency, Kenyon Martin went ahead and signed a one year deal with the Chinese club Xinjiang Flying Tigers and headed overseas just like a handful of other ballers across the league. The only problem with the deal was that it wouldn't allow Martin to start NBA activities until the league season was over on February 15th. FIBA then proceeded to slim that date down to February 2nd so Martin could sign with an NBA team and start his 2011-2012 season. The former first overall pick of the New Jersey Nets has reportedly signed a one year deal with the pacific division leading LA Clippers (13-7) for $2.5 million according the the LA Times. When healthy, Martin is a relentless and physical player in the post and will most certainly bring some more swagger and highlighted dunks to the Clippers alongside Blake Griffin. With DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin, and Kenyon Martin the Clips now have one of the most lethal paint presences around the NBA. Has the makings of a scary, scary combo.
Career Stats: 13.5 PPG, 7.2 RPG
